Saturday, July 15, 2017, saw more than 150 team coaches descend upon CalTech for the fifth annual Science Olympiad coaches summer workshop. The Southern California Science Olympiad Summer Workshop is a condensed, one-day introduction to events and rules for the 23 events that will comprise the Los Angeles Regional Science Olympiad in February and March 2018.

There were 117 Division B attendees, 76 Division C attendees, and 13 presenters. Coaches, parents, and tournament officials from all over southern California attended this workshop at CalTech to learn more about the 2018 Science Olympiad events, get tips and advice from event chairs, regional, state, and  national event supervisors, and provided input to make these events more relevant to everyday K-12 STEM education.

CalTech, hosts for this workshop, will again host the Southern California State Tournament in April 2018. Start planning now.
