A: The relationship between the mass and volume of water may be part of the Zowie Metrics event. Students should be prepared to use this understanding in the event.

Knock, Knock, Who's There?

Q: Will the committee consider narrowing the scope of the "living organism" (in the Description) or the specimens (in the Scoring section) to help students focus their efforts before the event? Or will notes be allowed during the event? (section: Description / paragraph:  / sub-paragraph:  / line: line 3 of Description, and the sample list under Scoring)

A: A limited organism list is not provided this year. Notes and references are permitted, as long as they do not interfere with the administration of the event or take up unreasonable space. As you consider notes and reference materials, remember that (as with all elementary events) this event is 30 minutes, which provides little time at each station.
